Sam Bucca, a Lithgowite from a secluded area of Wiradjuri Country, goes well beyond ordinary musical methods. You’ll Find is a map to our right of birth: unwavering self-love. The alluring melody of Sam Bucca cracks wide the entrance to this region within us.
“You’ll Find” isn’t scared to change in order to tell a story. It’s a fascinating trip via evocative language that starts with finely fingered guitar strings and progresses through magnificent progression until exploding into primordial spew. “Love is misrepresented as 18th century poetry and painting, as something outside of nature.” “It is our easygoing nature; like a healthy breath or death – there is no substitute,” Bucca defends, “it is chaos as much as calm; rebirth with destruction.”
Peter Kennard, one of Australia’s most prolific and enduring theatre composers – a performer, a studio based music producer and musical director with a career spanning nearly 30 years – is the mythical maestro behind the curtain of You’ll Find, transposing Bucca’s down-to-earth, camp-fire storytelling to histrionic heights. Bucca’s loyal ferocity and Kennard’s enlightened ear have shaped a monolithic musical masterpiece on Darug and Gundungurra territories.

The release will be accompanied by a video by Echo Storm Productions.
Through mythic metamorphosis and burial, director Peter B Francis teamed with Bucca to present mourning as a path of birth. Francis beautifully conveys the connection between grief and love. The beautiful madness of the clip, which ends with Bucca naked on a mountain, demonstrates a creative affinity.
Bucca’s repertoire has been labelled as ‘FolkPunk’ or ‘Alt-Country,’ but this, You’ll Discover, is a different beast altogether, drawing from the origins of all good music and comparing this huge spirit against contemporary frameworks.
