“It’s the same story we’ve all been through these last two years”, Says Sails Cassady as they describe their new single taking over the airwaves.
Sail Cassady is a band that came to life in 2012 while reading ‘On the road’ by Jack Kerouac. While reading the contents of the book, Colin Craveiro, singer/songwriter for the band’s “Old Green House” project had the thoughts and ideas of making it possible to let a band or a song experience the book’s contents saying, “I love imagery in music that almost pulls you in like a book or a film. Makes the experience of listening much more enriching and dynamic.”
The song “Old Green House” released by Sails Cassady on Thursday 9th December 2021, is a comparison of Colin Craveiro’s old life to an aging house with rooms filled with memories and objects scattered across the floors, torn apart and abandoned to begin a new life. As many has done, ‘Old Green House’ is a song released as an outcome of the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the world and the rate at which it brought upon us destruction.
Built with a beautiful string orchestra and soaring vocal harmonies, the song also describes Colin Craveiro’s own story of self-discovery and his internal battles, his conflicts with his faith, his identity, and all the demons that still seem to haunt him. Undoubtedly, a majestic and enchanting piece of folk.
With the experience he had with this song, they released a matching music video along with the song telling the story of a trans man in an entangle with his love in an unaccepted community. In combination with the song, the video helps in building self confidence and letting persons know who they really are and what they could become.
